Jakarta Bandung Fast Train Undergone a Dynamic Test This November

JAKARTA - The series of Electric Multiple Units (EMU) or trains for the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) project arrived from China to Indonesia last August 21 2022. It is targeted that in November this year or to coincide with the implementation of the G20 Presidency, KCJB has undergone a dynamic test.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi explained that the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train adopted high technology, Grade of Automation (GOA) Level 1, and had a slim design so that it could support the speed of the train, which could reach 350 km/hour. Later, KCJB will serve as many as 68 trips per day and stop at five stations.

President Director of the Indonesia-China Fast Train (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said that the first delivery of the EMU and the Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT) was the first delivery of the fast train EMU from China to overseas.

A total of 11 series of trains produced by CRRC Sifang, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, was completed in early April this year. EMU and CIT, which were sent to Indonesia, have completed static and dynamic tests at their production sites.

Train Design

The type of train as KCJB is KCI400AF, designed with an Indonesian identity. The design of the KCI 400AF is inspired by Komodo with the dominant colors of red and white. While the passenger seat will be decorated with a typical Cirebon mega mendung motif.

The KCJB journey in detail will connect East Jakarta City at Halim Station and Bandung Regency at Tegalluar Station with a track length of 142.3 kilometers (Km). KCJB has four stops along its route, namely Halim Station (Jakarta), Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar (Bandung).

Ticket Price

One KCJB series consists of eight trains with a capacity of 601 customers. The service classes are divided into 18 customers for VIP class, 28 first-class customers, and 555 second-class customers. The range of the ticket price is from IDR 250,000 to IDR 350,000. However, KAI's Vice President of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that the determination of KCJB rates is still being studied. The tariff will take into account various aspects before it is finally determined.
