The Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South toll road, which is currently under construction, is said to be able to cut the travel time from Jakarta to Kutanegara (Karawang) to Bandung to approximately 1 hour. The progress of the construction of the 62 km toll road continues to be accelerated.

From the report of the Directorate General of Highways as of 7 February 2023, the construction of the package 3 toll road, namely the Kutanegara-Sadang section with a length of 8.5 km, has included 92.3% land acquisition and 96.1% physical development.

Then the construction of Package 3 of the Sukabungah-Kutanegara section with a length of 22.8 km has entered the 100% land acquisition stage and 67.5% physical development. Both are targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2023.

This toll road is expected to reduce the Jakarta-Cikampek traffic burden. The construction of this toll road supports the development of industrial, residential and tourist areas along the toll route, and is also an alternative route from Jakarta to Bandung and vice versa.

The construction of the South Jakarta-Cikampek II toll road has started since 2019 with an investment cost of IDR 14.69 trillion with a concession period of 35 years.
