The Indonesian government has enacted a restriction on Lebaran 2021 homecoming from 6-17 May 2021. This prohibition applies to land transportation, rail transportation, sea transportation, and air transportation. This travel restriction is to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Supervision of Lebaran Homecoming will be carried out at coordination posts as checkpoints carried out by the task force for handling the COVID-19 virus and local governments. There are several exceptions to the prohibition of operating land transportation in 1 urban area. These areas are:

The limitation on the number of operational vehicles is still regulated in accordance with the policy of each region that is granted an exception. Exceptions also apply to toll road officers' operational service vehicles, fire engines, ambulances, hearses, drug transport vehicles, and other vehicles used for urgent non-travel purposes as stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 13 of 2021.
There are sanctions for people who travel to excepted areas in this period, vehicles that run will be forced to make a U-turn for private / family vehicles, 2 months imprisonment or a fine of IDR 500,000 for illegal travel, and maximum imprisonment of 1 month or a fine of IDR 250,000 for freight cars transporting people.
