Karawang Regency in West Java is set to play a crucial role in the development of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train. As part of the preparation, the Karawang Regency Government plans to revise the Regional Regulation on the Regional Spatial Plan to accommodate the high-speed rail project. Currently, the existing regulation, enacted from 2011-2031, does not address the construction of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway.
Eka Sanatha, Head of the Regional Planning and Development Agency, emphasized the need for a revision to align with the central government's program. Given that the high-speed train will pass through Karawang, updating the Regional Regulation on the Regional Spatial Plan becomes crucial. Eka mentioned receiving a letter from the governor, signaling the plan to revise the spatial planning regulation.
To ensure transparency and community involvement, Eka has been actively engaged in discussions with both the central government and the West Java Provincial Government. Socialization efforts have been carried out to inform and educate the local community and industries about the fast train project. With these measures in place, it is assured that the implementation of the high-speed rail will not disrupt residential areas.
By revising the Regional Regulation on the Regional Spatial Plan, Karawang Regency is actively supporting the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail program and positioning itself as an integral part of this transformative transportation initiative.
