Jakarta – The Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Vehicles and Electronics of the Ministry of Industry, I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan stipulated that the Ministry of Industry is preparing a total area of 2,381.97 hectares in the northern corridor of West Java to be developed into ten new international industrial areas.
“Around 35% or 851,97 hectares of the newly established industrial areas are situated in Karawang region,” Putu explained in a discussion in Jakarta.
Furthering the explanation, the Director General of Industrial Area Development, Imam Haryono explained that the Regional Government of Karawang is collaborating with global investors in developing Karawang New Industry City in West Karawang. “Karawang New Industry City will create a new hub of economic growth and will strengthen Karawang as the Center of Industry.”
Karawang New Industry City is an integrated development that will comprise of five industrial parks, namely: Automotive, Construction Materials, Consumer Electronics, Logistics Service and a dedicated industrial park for SME and Innovation.
