Special Economic Zones (SEZ) are areas with certain boundaries within the jurisdiction of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which are determined to carry out economic functions and obtain certain facilities.
Indonesia is one of the countries that builds economic drivers through the development of Special Economic Zones. This area was also formed with the aim of increasing capital provision through preparing areas that have economic and geostrategic advantages.
This area offers convenience by providing various incentives ranging from tax incentives to regulatory incentives. SEZs also allow on-site living. In addition, SEZs also provide infrastructure and services for rental companies. Business activities in SEZs are also supported by a set of policy instruments that are often different from those in other countries.
The Special Economic Zone consists of several zones, including zones for export processing, industry, logistics tourism, technology development an energy whose activities are aimed at exports and for domestic purposes.
